Design Philosophy

Success for me looks like designing a client’s sacred space that has a meaningful impact on their life, while still being creative and having fun along the way. I know interior design won’t change the world, but it can change how someone feels in their world – and that ripple effect is powerful. Joy in our homes is transformative. I truly want everyone to say, “It’s good to be home.”
My interest in interior design started early when I would accompany my dad on home appraisals and observe others’ design choices. Even then, I enjoyed selecting fabrics, wallpapers, and paint colors to create design boards, and I helped anyone I could to decorate their rooms. This led me to design classes, participate in competitions such as designing tablescapes and even solar-powered home design, and eventually attend Utah State University, where I was admitted into their Interior Design program. While the lessons from my formal education were foundational, the years of designing my own homes and those of my clients, over the decades, have given me the experience and knowledge I share today.
My work and passion are to create spaces that feel like home. Many of us need a soft place to land both mentally and emotionally—a sanctuary from our busy lives, a reminder of treasured memories, and a space to gather those we love. Our homes should tell our story of who we are and be a reflection of the life we love.
Curating our homes is a process, not a destination, and it isn’t all about aesthetics and architecture. Most importantly, it is about how you feel in the space. Sometimes it’s hard to put into words what we want our space to feel like. Simply put, it should feel good to be home. The anticipation of coming home after a long day, breathing a sigh of relief, or putting a smile on your face, surrounded by what you love. So much of our lives is tied up with everyday activities that take us out of our homes, so having a place of refuge is essential. Color, pattern, texture, balance, movement, proportion, and unity come together when intentional decisions are made.
